Inner Line Permit

Arunachal Pradesh is a restricted area. Visitors who are not natives of the state need official permission to enter. The permit is granted as a routine for tourists.

Official permission to enter the state

Arunachal Pradesh falls under a restricted area, so official permission is required to enter the state. Visitors other than natives of Arunachal Pradesh must obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP). The permit is granted as a routine for tourists. It should not deter anyone from visiting Arunachal Pradesh.

02 · How to get one

Three steps before you travel

    Apply on the eILP portalFill in the online form at eilp.arunachal.gov.in. Details and procedures are on the portal.

    Carry a photo IDTake a government-issued photo ID with you. You need it when applying and while travelling in the state.

  3. 03

    Show the permit at entryKeep the permit with you. Check posts ask for it when you enter the state.
